Apple Inc: 3D Maps = Enemy of the State?
Remember when Google Inc initially launched Google maps and raised privacy concerns everywhere? Not to be alarmed, but these invasion of privacy class-action lawsuits against Google Inc are still present. Google vehicles have been circulated around worldwide on every face of the planet gathering images for Google Map’s street view feature. If you’re lucky enough, or unlucky enough, you may permanently be on one of those photos. Personally I find it amusing, just like an Easter egg hunt. Despite the paranoid individuals who may feel a little bit invaded, I’m sure in one way or another, Google Maps have been thought of as useful.
With this technology consistently evolving, developers from Google Inc and Apple Inc each unveiled their own brand new 3D mapping devices recently. Taking the regular street view Google Maps to whole new level. This 3D mapping device enables users to easily navigate around a realistic aerial view of a city, making the once amusing satellite-based images look like child’s play. Both companies are now in a battle to develop these 3D digital maps that will also be mobile capable on various smartphones as well.
